Big Night Of Musicals OB Mix

SPIRITLANDONE TAKES CENTER STAGE FOR BIG NIGHT OF MUSICALS ON BBC ONE.

The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals was watched by nearly three million people live on Saturday 29th January on BBC One, with SpiritlandONE at the forefront.

All 258 channels of orchestra and performer radio mics, from a glittering array of the West End’s finest shows, were mixed live in SpiritlandONE as the show was recorded in Manchester’s AO Arena last Monday, 24th January.

A detailed post production and mix process in the days between record and TX, ensured the mix was perfect, under the watchful eye of Musical Director Jon Ranger.

Co-Founding Director of Spiritland Productions, Antony Shaw was the Broadcast Music Mix Engineer.

James Abbott, Music Supervisor for Special Events at Disney Theatrical, said of the mix: “WOW!!! So gratifying to hear it with a ‘proper’ string section. Mixes seem terrific to me.”

And Anne Quart, Senior Vice President of Production & Co-Producer at Disney Theatrical, said: “They sound glorious. Thank you so much.”

Spiritland Productions also provided a comprehensive Riedel Bolero Comms system to the whole production team which included producers TBI Media and facilities provider NEP.

You can relive the show on the BBC iPlayer or listen again to the two hour special, broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday 30th January, on BBC Sounds.
